Although Bethesda has remained quiet ever since revealing The Elder Scrolls VI, various leaks and rumors have appeared all over the internet since then, hinting at the next possible location, setting, and more.

Pick up my sci-fi novel series, The Earthborn Trilogy, which is now in print, online and on audiobook. A detailed rumor leaks the Elder Scrolls 6s release and content, and tells tales of massive battles, customizable ships, and a huge city. Update: Target is now claiming this is not a real product, and may have been a hoax.įollow me on Twitter and on Facebook. There are a lot of questions based on one rogue listing, but a Bethesda Game of Thrones game, if handled correctly, has the potential to be a massive release, so this is a very big deal indeed. Ever since Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls 5, players knew that everything Skyrim had to offer could not only reshape the world of video games but also pave the way for what The Elder Scrolls 6 could be in the future. Could an announcement be planned before or after tonight’s Game of Thrones Season 7 finale? And if so, in what time period would this game take place in Westeros? Before, during or after the show? The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a long way from release, and Bethesda might be quite secretive about it in order to avoid leaks.

Now, they might have changed their tune given how popular the series has become.Īgain, none of this is confirmed and right now, Target, Bethesda and HBO aren’t talking (I expect this page will be taken down soon). Reportedly, Bethesda was actually offered a Game of Thrones game before Skyrim was ever made, but they chose its own IP instead. I would have guessed that HBO/Martin would partner with someone to create a Thrones-based rival to the hugely popular Elder Scrolls series, but it seems that Bethesda may have decided it would be a good idea to simply take the project on themselves, and space it out so that Elder Scrolls VI and a potential Thrones game don’t bump heads. Even if it did, Bethesda always abbreviates the series as TES, including "The" of "The Elder Scrolls" in the acronym.Anyone who has played an Elder Scrolls game knows that Bethesda seems like precisely the right developer for this sort of project, but it’s almost even a little too on the nose because of how similar it is to their own series. Given the amount of time that has passed since the game’s announcement, the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda. The label reads "ES-VIRF alpha test", which would seemingly stand for "Elder Scrolls VI Redfall." Like many game studios, Bethesda uses codenames for in-development projects, so it's unlikely that it would put this kind of a title on a test video. Elder Scrolls fans can’t even put together enough leaks and rumors to theorycraft the game. The biggest strike against the video's authenticity - aside from this being the internet equivalent of something falling off the back of a truck - is the text on the side of the screen.

Video taken from 4chan leak, could be map testing of Elder Scrolls 6 from r/ElderScrolls Beyond supposedly offering our first look at the next Elder Scrolls game running in-engine, there isn't much to the video - just a first-person view of running around on a grassy hill dotted with boulders, with more craggy foothills sprawling on the horizon. While the Elder Scrolls subreddit's moderators have since removed the post, you can still watch the 9-second video below and judge for yourself how authentic it looks.
